JAZZ ENSEMBLE | AGES 9 TO 17 

The Musicology Jazz Ensemble is geared towards intermediary and advanced students who want to explore the world of jazz.  Students attend a 30 or 45 minute lesson, and a 2 hour rehearsal each week. Our Jazz Ensemble will focus on both standards as well as progressive jazz genres. The rehearsals are all driving towards a seasonal show in which our students play as a band at a professional venue.

WORKIN' FOR A LIVIN' | AGES 18 & UP

Learning music isn’t just for kids--now anyone can learn to play! Our Workin' For A Livin' program is designed for adults who want to learn to play an instrument, improve their skills, or just want to jam. 30 Min or 45 minute lessons and a 2 hour weekly jam session is just what you need to de-stress and have a little fun. Our Workin' For A Livin' band performs around Long Island so you get to share your fun with family and friends. The group will focus on a wide variety of music genres from classic rock to modern rock.

HIT THE LIGHTS | AGES 12 TO 17 

Learning to be a musician is what Musicology Performance Center is all about. Hit The Lights is our cornerstone program. This is where students learn one of the most important aspects of being a musician, how to play in a band. Students attend a 30 or 45 minute lesson, and a 3 hour rehearsal each week. The rehearsals are all driving toward a seasonal show in which our students play as a band at a professional venue. In this program, students learn how to set up their instruments for performance, get great tone, play with dynamics, and perform live on stage with other musicians. Hit The Lights performances are themed. Some themes will focus on a genre while others on a particular artist. Over the course of a year a student will have an opportunity to participate in performances ranging from Jazz to Heavy Metal!

 

KID ROCK | AGES 7 TO 11 

The Musicology Kid Rock program is geared towards beginners and intermediary students. Student will learn the fundamentals of music as well as learn to play with a band. Students attend a 30 or 45 minute lesson, and a 2 hour rehearsal each week. The students will focus on bands such as Green Day, AC/DC and The Ramones to name a few. The rehearsals are all leading up to a seasonal show in which our students play as a band at a professional venue.

 
 

VOCAL ENSEMBLE | AGES 9       & UP 

The Musicology Vocal Ensemble is devoted exclusively to the performance of Pop, Rock, and Soul music. Our ensemble was created to provide an outlet for vocalists of all levels and backgrounds to explore contemporary music in a supportive and fun environment. Students in our ensemble will get an in depth focus on learning all of the important vocal techniques such as: Vocal Warm Up Routines, Breath Support, Range, Strength/Projection, Intonation, Harmony, Theory, Improvisational Exercises, Ear Training, Performance skills, developing a diverse repertoire, and gaining the confidence to overcome stage fright. The ensemble will prepare a selection of songs to perform at various events through out the year. Artists such as Elton John, Green Day, Billy Joel, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Queen, Journey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dione and many more will be incorporated into the weekly curriculum. Students will receive either a 30 or 45 minute weekly lesson, and a 1.5 weekly rehearsal.
